Don't be a fool!

Okay ladies! Here's the deal, I'm trying to become more...cultured.  I realize everyday that i'm actually more into classical music, movies, and books than it may seem and so I've decided that I want to, not only read, watch and listen but actually own certain books and movies and go listen to music performances live! (and plays and musicals if the opportunity arises)

I recently watched The Elephant Man, with Anthony Hopkins. (not quite classic, it came out in 1980)  What an amazing film!  This movie is based on the true life of a Mr. John (Joseph) Merrick  (there is some debate about whether his first name was John or Joseph) who lived in London in the late 1800's and was tortured because of a disease that made him incredibly disfigured.  So sad! (I cried the whole time)  Yet amazing!  I recommend it!

Now to the point....I am using Amazon.com for the second time.  (the first time I received an Australian copy of a dvd, all that meant was that it wouldn't play on my american machine) needless to say i'm paying more attention this time.  Anyway, I've done only a small amount of research and I've heard that Amazon is the best place to buy books and movies.  Thoughts?  Feedback?  Suggestions?  Hints?  Tips?  Tricks?  Jokes??  Anything that can help me out??? Please let me know!

I'm also taking suggestions on films to watch or books to read.  My first goal is to make it through AFI's 100 Years, 100 Movies list of 2007.  Any other suggestions would be appreciated...or for books you can find me on Good Reads, a website where you can tell people what you've read and they can give you suggestions for other books you might enjoy.

Hope to hear from you!  Maybe you can join me on this little adventure! :)

TTFN!!
